Plant Focus: Hebe || #PlantoftheWeek #Shorts

Named after the beauty of the Greek mythological figure, Hebe more than lives up to its name. Even though they originate from temperate New Zealand, Hebe can withstand mild drought and light frost. This makes them great specimens for South African landscapes. Attractive green foliage is topped with colourful blooms in the early spring all the way into autumn. End of season pruning will keep the plants compact and tidy. Hebe are at home just as much in containers as they are in lush garden. They are great border plants and their evergreen nature will add a touch of greenery to grey winter landscapes. If you want a low maintenance, beautiful perennial then look no further than the beloved Hebe.
